Teacher of Hungarian Language Education Under the EU Language Instruction Scheme Wanted

About the Job:

Møllevang School is seeking a teacher for children from grades 0-9 in Hungarian.

The teaching is provided under the EU Languages legislation, which allows children whose parents come from an EU country to receive instruction in their mother tongue outside regular school hours.

Currently, 9 students are enrolled and taught in one group, receiving 3 lessons per week. The class has been newly established.

As an EU Languages teacher, you will be the primary point of contact for parents and will keep them informed about all matters relating to the classes.

You will have a say in scheduling the lessons, but they must take place outside normal school hours, either on weekdays or at weekends. Teaching follows the school year's holiday and vacation schedule and takes place at Møllevang School.

One of Møllevang School's educational leaders will be your immediate manager. In addition to Hungarian, instruction is offered in Bulgarian, French, Greek, Icelandic, Italian, Lithuanian, Polish, Romanian, Spanish, German, Portuguese, and Czech.

Your Profile

We expect that you:

  • Speak Hungarian fluently, preferably as your native language.
  • Have an interest in and aptitude for working with a diverse group of children.
  • Have an interest in teaching and preferably some teaching experience.
  • Are open-minded and empathetic.
  • Are well-organized in planning your lessons and flexible in adapting content to suit students' needs.
  • Are a strong classroom leader.
  • Enjoy and are skilled at communicating with parents.
  • Can work independently.

You will be employed as a teacher, with or without formal teacher training, depending on your educational background.

For the current school year, the position amounts to 5.69 hours per week per class, including preparation time and parent contact (this may vary from year to year depending on the number of enrolled students).

The starting date will be agreed upon, but preferably as soon as possible.

Terms of Salary and Employment:
Salary and employment conditions will be in accordance with the applicable collective agreement. Final salary determination will be made following negotiations with the relevant trade union authorized to negotiate on behalf of employees, based on qualifications, unless the position is covered by a pre-agreed salary arrangement that may serve as the basis for salary determination.

Weekly working hours: Deltid

A child protection certificate and a criminal record certificate will be obtained, and employment is conditional upon these certificates not indicating that you are unsuitable or unfit for the position. You can read more here about how we process your personal data.
